contact with classical, jazz and modern music from an early age on. She had classical piano lessons.
At the age of 16, she first became interested in hand drums and non-European music. After her
school-leaving exams, she studied ethnic percussion, drum set, and piano at the Academy for Music in Leipzig (Germany).
Nora Thiele gave concerts as a soloist and with her ensembles "The Playfords", "Duo Doyra", and
with the Oud player Saef Alkeat in Germany, Poland, France, Italy, Turkey, Iran, Syria, and China.
Today she lives as a freelance musician in Berlin.
Her musical work is about exploring interfaces, limits and transitions of and between genres, eras, and cultures. New musical perspectives are born from stylistic assurance and enthusiasm for experimental playing.
